To this day, we probably have no idea how many major brands got their start this way, and the same thing applies to YouTubers.

At least YouTube did a really good job re-prioritizing User Engagement, thus making the people who buy views only hurt their own User Engagement since the views don’t leave likes or comments. Kinda, funny!
